About

Hey. My name is Marc and I am a 26 years-old PhD student from Nancy, North-Eastern France. One thing I have to acknowledge is that I'm not very good at talking about my music.

The project started in summer 2005, when I decided to compose pieces of music on my own, after having been evicted from my former band, the year before. Originally, I did not intend to produce anything formalised, such as albums: the only goal was to enjoy playing music again.

Thus, I bought an audio controller, so that I would be able to hear the music I was producing. After a while, some friends lent an ear to what I had recorded, and convinced me to give the whole thing a new direction, and that was when I decided to record albums and stuff. I named this project No Opera after a track by Chris Cole's Manyfingers.

So, I started releasing things, mainly through free-of-charges downloads. Two long plays and two extended plays have been released so far. In the beginning of 2009 I aslo acquired the electronic equipment required to perform my music live, and rewrote most of the songs in a gig-oriented way.

Also, I want to say that this whole project must not be regarded as professional. I am not a professional recording artist, nor a professional recording engineer, and I have absolutely no intention to ever become the former or the latter. I am not interested in promoting this music to the largest possible audience, or in performing it live except under exceptional conditions (living-rooms are the best). So please, keep your money and your time to support people who still dream to live thanks to music.
